RE: TM Canada January 7, 2010
Our plans for TM Canada symposium in Edmonton on June 1st and 2nd are progressing well. The focus of the event is to explore the transformation of school libraries in Canada to meet the needs of 21st century schools and learners. TM Canada will be initiated with an early dinner and speaker on Tuesday evening followed by a full day think tank on Wednesday and we promise to wrap up the day in time for CLA opening events.

We have started the search for papers to support our work. We need your assistance in assuring that teacher librarians and other educational leaders right across the country have an opportunity to add their voices, ideas and research for our study. We would be very pleased if you could help us reach as many as possible by posting the attached Call for Papers to your district list serves. We would be very grateful if you could also target educational leaders and invite them to consider submitting a paper.
Please inform Carol Koechlin koechlin at sympatico.ca<mailto:koechlin at sympatico.ca> of prospective writers and request that finished papers be sent directly to her.
Attached you will find the call for papers invitation and a short specifications checklist. Deadline for submission of papers is March 12, 2010. Papers will be published for attendees at the symposium. All papers that have permission by the author will be posted on the TM Canada Wiki.

It will take everyone engaged in school library programs in Canada to build momentum for transformations that best meet the needs of schools and learners today. As well as papers we invite you to join our conversations and learning at http://tmcanada.pbworks.com<http://tmcanada.pbworks.com/> .

If you are interested in joining us at the TM Canada symposium in June prior to CLA Conference please watch for registration details via the wiki and further CASL communications.
