The Canadian Children's Book Centre has announced the list of touring authors, illustrators and storytellers for the 2011 Book Week which will be held during the first week of May. Manitoba is very pleased to be hosting storyteller Jennifer Cayley and author Mahtab Narsimhan. To quote Jennifer Cayley's web page, "Jennifer Cayley's repertoire favours epic, myth and traditional folk and fairy tales but she also tells literary and personal material." Jennifer's presentations are appropriate for all ages, K-12. To learn more about Jennifer, go to www.storytellingtoronto.org/DirectoryPages. Award-winning author Mahtab Narsimhan writes junior fiction as well as non-fiction and her presentations are appropriate for Grades 3-8. To commemorate its 20th anniversary, the Manitoba Young Readers' Choice Awards Inc. has developed a poster featuring all twenty MYRCA winning books. The poster will be officially launched at McNally Robinson Booksellers in the Grant Park Mall on Wednesday, September 29th at 7:30 pm, as part of the Reading Event for Susin Nielsen, the 2010 MYRCA winner.
